Hugh Ferguson’s sea-going career began as an engineer with British India/P&O, then with Globtik Tankers, leading to the rank of Chief Engineer with Northern Marine, serving on Stena vessels from 1984. From 1986 his career continued ashore from an initial appointment as Superintendent, then Ship Manager, Technical Manager, Technical Director and General Manager/Director until he was appointed as Managing Director on 1st January 2010.
General Manager / Director
Philip Fullerton joined NMM in 1995 at the time of the StenTex transition between Stena and Texaco after completing an Engineering Cadetship with Texaco Overseas Tankships Limited. He progressed through the sailing ranks from Fourth Engineer to Chief Engineer within the Northern Marine fleet, sailing on various types of tankers. He joined the office staff as Superintendent in 2002 initially working within the tanker ship groups, then progressed to Senior Superintendent and Technical Manager with involvement in all technical issues with the fleet, projects and newbuilding activities. In 2008 he became Technical Director, until appointed General Manager / Director in 2012.
Ian Hampton completed a cadetship with P&OSNCo thereafter transferring to the cruise industry working for several years for Cunard Line. Whilst with Cunard Ian transferred ashore into Carnival’s European Headquarter within the Fleet Personnel Department, responsible for the crewing functions globally for a number of the Carnival Cruise brands. After a number of years with Carnival Ian relocated to Asia accepting the role as Executive Director of Family business with a very diverse portfolio of operation. Ian returned to the UK in June 2014 to take up his present role with Northern Marine Group. Ian is a UK (CIPD) and Australia (AHRI) Chartered HR professional.
Stena Marine Singapore Chief Executive Officer
Dominic Fernandez joined Northern Marine in 2006, having progressed through senior finance positions before being appointed as CEO of Stena Marine Singapore in June 2013. He began his career at KPMG in 1995, with roles in the UK and US, prior to taking up a commercial role in the industry. He is a fully qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and holds a MA in Political Economy from the University of Glasgow.
Tritec Marine Ltd General Manager
David Scott has a marine engineering background sailing as Chief Engineer in Northern Marine Management's VLCC fleet. David moved ashore in 2005 and has progressed through Tritec Marine Ltd holding a number of senior roles in both ship operations and project management including foreign based assignments. His most recent assignment is General Manager of the company's worldwide operations.
Finance Director / Company Secretary
Jackie Tierney joined Northern Marine in 1986 as a member of the Finance Department. She achieved ACMA qualification whilst progressing to a senior level within the department and was appointed Financial Director in 2005. Currently she is also a Director of the Scottish Shipping Benevolent Fund.
Murdoch MacDonald served as Cadet and Deck Officer with Denholm Ship Management prior to spending three years ashore in the Operations Group. He joined NMM in 1983 and served in a number of positions in the Operations Department, including Ship Manager. In 1999 he was appointed Commercial Manager in response to the Company's expanding activities and became Commercial Director in 2008.
